Patrick is a Navy conch – born in Key West, Florida while his father was stationed at the Navy base there. Shortly after, his family moved to Orlando, where he grew up and graduated from Bishop Moore High School. He went straight into college, graduating from the University of Miami with a degree in Marine Science in 1989.
Patrick attended Pace University College of Law in White Plains, New York, where he was a member of the Pace Environmental Law Review. His student paper was chosen to be published in the law review: The United States Claims Court: A Safe “Harbor” from Government Regulation of Privately Owned Wetlands, 9 Pace Envtl. L. Rev. 723 (1992). He graduated in 1992, earning an environmental law certificate with his JD degree, and quickly moved back to Orlando, Florida.
Patrick’s career path in the 30-plus years since he graduated from law school has included public and private sector work covering a range of practice areas that include construction, employment, land use, local government, and real estate law.
His primary focus areas at Douglas Law Firm are land use, local government, and real estate.
Patrick came to Putnam County in 2001, certain he would be back in Orlando within a few years but found the lifestyle and the community feel of Putnam County suited him well, so he never left. The decision to stay was rewarded several years later when he met and married his beautiful wife, Stephania.
