Kevin is originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He graduated from Ed White High School in Jacksonville, Florida before serving for six years on submarines in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear trained Machinist Mate. He has previously held a 100-ton captain s license as well as a 4000-Hp designated duty engineer s license. He worked as a sailing instructor and charter boat captain and also crewed on commercial vessel deliveries.

In 2002, Kevin moved to a house on the St. Johns River in East Palatka, Florida. He then attended St. Johns River Community College where he received his A.A. degree in 2005. He matriculated to the University of Florida where he received his B.A. in 2007 with a degree in political science with a minor in anthropology.

Kevin attended the University of Florida’s College of Law where he was a member of the Honor Committee, the Journal of Law and Public Policy, and the Trial Team. He worked in the Conservation Clinic at the Center for Governmental Responsibility and he received a certificate from the Environmental and Land Use Law program. He also worked a semester externship for the Innocence Project of Florida which focused on post-conviction DNA testing to obtain the release of those wrongly convicted. In the spring of 2010, he graduated with high honors in the top ten percent of his class.

Kevin practices law throughout Florida covering a broad range of legal areas. His primary focus areas at Douglas Law Firm are probate and estate planning.

He considers himself extremely fortunate to be able to continue to live and work here, and he continues to be actively involved in the community and various local organizations.
